Batesville AR. Feller has several nib pre-64 winchesters. Also has over a hundred old S@W antique revolvers. Probably 20 model 70's listed in auction block in Arkansas Democrat Gazette. Rifle deer season opens same day so i won't be there.

    krw...

Probably somewhere north of $1500, but one never really knows what something will bring at an auction.

One can sometimes get a fantastic deal simply because nobody else at the auction is interested in the item, or has any money left when the item reaches the gavel. For example, just recently, I got a really good deal (almost a steal) on a Winchester Model 97 slide action shotgun (in 95% graded condition) at an auction... it was in the third and final session of the auction, and was in the last 30 items or so to be auctioned (9:45 PM in the evening)... I got it for a mere $525[:p]

    Nice caliber by the way[^]

The pre 64 will be worth roughly $3500 or more if it was manufactured before WW1.

I know because I bought one.

Rockton... if really you bought a pre WW I Model 70, it is worth a few MILLION $$$$ because it is the ONLY one in existence!

    True, Bert H -

Seeing as how they didn't crank out the first one until 1937.

Saxon - Don't you just hate it when you find the auctions rigged like that? Last time I went to an estate sale, the auctioneer and the family were working together to run the bidding up. Walked away with all my money still in my pocket.

    Keep off the Ridgeline
