Gentlemen,

I just purchased a Browning 380 1955 Type, (FN Man.)and it came in the Browning zippered pouch, It is in NIB condition. The serial # is 638042 does anyone know when this was made? Thank you.

  Since your S N is higher then the ones given on the Browning web - site, my WAG is that it was sold over seas and brought back by an individual, or imported via the grey-market.
  In any case it probably dates from the late 60's or early 70's.
