remington 700 6mm

Hello, I am trying to get some info on the above subject. It is a heavy barreled rifle with a wood stock. The serial number is 319xxx. The barrel code is hard to read but it looks to be 4 rp 19. The rifle is in excellent shape. Does anyone know what year this rifle was made? What is it's value?

    just purchased a remington 700 in 6mm rem. i would rate it at 95%..it has a 20" barrel and a metal butt plate...also a very nice looking checkered stock..serial # is in the five digit range..markings on left side of barrel are f4 k 41 right side of barrel has what almost looks like a heart..can't figure this gun out in my blue book...would like to know when it was made and approx. value..thanks to all....tom

    I can't tell ya what it's worth or anything, but does it happen to be a stainless heavy-barrel?
    I've been looking for a 6mm Sendero SF (or equilivent).

    The K dates your rifle to 1963.Second year production.I also have a 700 in 6mm made in 1968

    a 20 inch barrel?? i believe someone has put a hart barrel on your weapon. however, hart barrels (at least the more current models) do not have serial numbers, only the picture of a "heart" along with a stampted caliber designation. i also have a remington 700 with a hart 26 1/2 bull barrel/40xb fart trigger[:p]. if i were to guess, your stock is the basketweave type/montecarlo/highgloss. you may want to research if the hart barrel company put #s on their barrels in the old days. i can tell you this, hart barrels are excellent shooters!
    if you reload, make sure you pay special attention to the case overall length....the bullet nose needs to be right there on the rifling with the hart stuff. i would be interested to know what you find out about your weapon.

    20 inch barrels were standard Remington production for 1 or 2 years only.From the numbers-letters on the left side of your barrel i would say it is original.The heart,or spade shaped symbol on the right side,i believe to be a proof mark as my rifle has the same markings.20 inch barrels were quite limited and should bring a premium from a collector of early 700's

    ohiodog...thats why i was confused about the blue book reference...no 20" barrels..but after talking to alot of people oldsingleshot is dead on. i also am in the process of contacting remington..the checkering is also nothing like on any of my other remingtons..very nice design..thanks for all who posted replys..i just wanted a value for insurance purpose and this is a keeper. thanks again tom
