Skeletonized Trigger

I have seen a Colt 45 with a Skeletonized Trigger that has an allen head screw in it. Can anyone tell me what the purpose of the screw is?
Does it change the trigger pull?

  the screw is an over travel screw it stops the trigger
  it does not change the pound of pull if set correct
