.22 smi-auto rifle

I have a .22 cal semi-auto tube fed rifle. It is marked on the rear of the received: Ranger 101.11

I believe it to be a Stevens manufactured rifle and need to know the correct model number for parts purposes. It has verticle slots in the receiver on the left side, and a rouond charging knob that can be pushed into the receiver to lock the action open. Any help appreciated.

Is this the one that can shoot short, longs, or long rifle in any order by chance?

Sounds like a Stevens Model 87 (87A) to me. I just acquired a really nice specimen, very probably made during the last years of production. A rugged, dependable rifle, although not yet a super-desirable collectors' gun. Worth taking it to a knowledgeable source for verification.

I do not find a model 101.11 in the crossover lists, but there is a model 101.1 which was a Savage model 94, and there is a model 101.1120 which was Savage models 51 and 951. You might want to check a Standard Catalog or Blue Book to compare your Sears model to those.

If so it's a Stevens 87A Also known as a Savage or a Springfield 87A.

Thanks for all the help. Looks like it's a Mod. 87 Stevens. It has an aluminum alloy trigger guard. Probably more identifiable from a left hand view. The receiver has about eight verticle "slots" in it.
I need a complete stock and a rear sight for a restoration project.
