Taurus 22LR "tracker" revolver
How do these compare in size to a S&W revolvers what frame aprox? I want a Large frame 22 revolver, but not having much luck finding one. My dealer said he could get me one for about $250, but having no idea how big it is I didn't want to commit. Are they decent quality?

Hey Richbug. I have a Taurus model 94. It is a stainless steel 9 shot .22lr revolver. I have a 5" barrel on mine, but you can get a 4" and I think a 2". I love it! It looks and feels like a larger frame gun. It is the most accurate .22 revolver I have ever shot. My only complaint is that it has the "Lawyer Proof" double action trigger pull, but the single action is crisp with no take up. I have a .357 Tracker in titanium and it is a great gun also. I just enjoy shooting my model 94. As far as quality goes, I have compared several new Taurus revolvers to S&W and I think Taurus makes a better gun. I guess my personal feelings about S&W have something to do with it, but I think S&W is a sell out riding the legacy of a once great gun maker. 0 -
Them there are fightin words... not really thanks for the info, The tracker is a 7 shot, but looks alot bigger in the pictures comes in 6". What I really want is a 10 shot N- frame but thought the taurus would be OK. S&W is a good company now, no brits involved

RICHBUG,
I have a s&w k22 masterpiece with the 8 3/8" barrel and I also have the Taurus Tracker in 22 mag and 17 hmr. Frame wise they are about equal. but actually the taurus with the 6" barrels feel just as heavy as the s&w 8 3/8" barrel. because they have the full underlug barrel and the smith doesn't. I have shot the smith and the taurus 22 mag and i loved them both. I have yet to shoot the taurus 17 hmr. Now if you want the real large frame I just bought the Taurus "Raging 22 Hornet." Man what a beast. I mounted the scope on it and it is scary looking. Has a 10" full underlug barrel. Haven't shot it yet either.
