Guns from Canada

I saw several guns listed on Gunbroker from vendors in Canada. Can a gun (shotgun) be shipped from Canada to U.S.A. ?

    Not directly.

    It must be imported through a dealer with the proper permits. It must be approved, stamped, go through customs, & taxes & duty must be paid. There are some dealers in the Canadian border area who do this for a fee.

    Unlikely that's it would be worth the expense, but knock yourself out.

    Yes, you can. No, it's not worth it - the paperwork is just hell to go through. Shipping inside of Canada is a helluva lot easier than cross border.

    With the changes in the Federal regulations regarding the shipping of firearms up here, many of the stores that use to ship cross border have stopped - just not worth the time/effort/money for both them or the client.

    Some still do, however - but be very wary about the true cost of the paperwork.

    THE ONLY POSSIBLE EXCEPTION TO THE ABOVE WOULD BE IF THE SHOTGUN IS MGF. BEFORE 1898. ANTIQUES DON'T NEED ALL THE PAPERWORK.

    I imported 2 guns from Canada this past spring. Am waiting for a permit for a third one right now. The waiting is more of a hassle than the paperwork.
