Belgian A5 Light 20

Well guys I don't generally pose this kind of question anymore but there just aren't many comparables for sale out there now. I have come across a fella who appears to be unmoving on his $400.00 price for a not-so-well-taken-care-of Light 20. The barrel is full choke *, vent-ribbed, flat-knob, original length stock, no cracks that I can see anywhere on the wood but lots of scratches and dings to the butt stock. Bore is bright and all friction pieces are on the mag tube. The finish to the barrel and receiver is not real good but then I guess he'd be asking twice the money if it were. I envision lots of rubbing and polishing (maybe reblue, maybe refinish on stocks) to clean this gun up and still have no more than a nice shooter when that's all done. Do you think this gun is worth more than $300.00? Because that's about where I'd value it with my very limited knowledge of the line. As always, thanks for any advice.

    The "Big" problem here is the "Full" Choke.
    What would you use the full choke for in either the condition the gun is now or if you were to restore it?
    The tighter choked barrels are dead weight unless 100% condition and on a NIB collectable shotgun.
    Then it still is a negative to value.
    "IF" the barrel was anything but full, you would have a nice shooter and a gun that may warrant a full fledge restoration.
    But, whether you consider it to be worth $300 or not.......
    It's his and he "Might" get the 4 bills.
    I'd spend the money on something I could use and be proud of.

    Spring Creek, Thanks for the input. You are of course correct in every way, especially as regards the closed choke. That is a fine-looking piece though and I will be on the look-out for a better example of it.
