Then you haven't visited www.24hourcampfire.com yet. Thats where the big dogs hunt. Very knowledgeable people there. Several professional gun writers, and several excelent riflesmiths post and reply regularly there. This forum is a good one with some knowledgeable people but IMHO the campfire is top of the heap. As for the twist rate, not sure off the top of my head what would be considered a fast twist barrel for the 6mm/.243 family. But if it is fast enough to stabilize the heavier bullets(i.e. 100grain) there should be no problem with a lighter weight offering. As for what opinions you will get on your selection it will vary. A bolt action "should" for all practical purposes be more accurate than an auto loader. Also you will not sacrifice velocity and energy because neither is required to function the bolt action. Some of the bullet's energy will be required to function the 7400's action. It aint much but you get the picture. Its kinda like the Less filling-Tastes great debate. What ever floats your boat. And you will hear a good bit of this at the fire but they will answer your questions. Many will rag you for the selection of rifle, but thats the nature of the beast. They mean no harm. Just usually how they break in the rookies. But there isnt a question you could ask about that particular rifle that they wont answer. Big Stick, Erimicus, Charlie Sisk(owner of Sisk Rifles), Celt(owner of HD rifles), Flinch, Mule Deer(one of our resident writers) are most of the ones I trust on there. A lot of knowledge for the asking. If Stick replies to any of your posts, be warned he is kinda a tongue in cheek guy and tells it like it is. No holds barred. So go check 'em out and good luck.

Everyone has a photographic memory. Only some have film.
