Factory Colt AR-15 Magazines

Will these magazines work in a Bushmaster AR-15 clone? Are all the Colt AR-15 magazines built the same? What should I look for? What can I expect to pay for these magazines?

  Any Colt AR/Sporter mag should function well in any Bushmaster of the same caliber.
  
  Actually, Colt doesn't make their own mags. They bought them from at least one contractor, maybe more; they don't feel the need to inform us who makes them. There may be slight differences, but that should not affect the function. They sell several different capacity mags.
  
  Beware of off-brand mags that have had a Colt floor plate added. Beware of used mags, as dents or deformed lips may make them unusable.

  Stay away from USA mags as they are crap.

  don't buy any steel mags of any kind (I hear there are some steel british mags that are good but haven't had any experience with them). Check out AR15.com there is a whole forum devoted to mags there....

  Dont waste your money on a "Colt" mag unless your going to leave it in the package and sell later. Thermold mags work great and you can pick them up for around $20-$25 on a good day.
