came across 2 old mausers, wondering what they are. Sorry i dont have access to a digital camera. The first one has a marking on the reciever that are in this oder
FABRIC CARMAS
____OVIEDO
_____1929
with the fabic carmas is in a U shape. It also says
OVIEDO SPAIN M1916
SAMCO MIA FL 7MM MAU
at the end of the botom side of the barrel. The serial number on the barrel and reciever is T9785.

The second one has markings on the reciever in this order (THE LINES ARE JUST SPACE TAKERS)

and it has a star over a crescent moon in the center. The end of the barrel is marked
M1938 GERMAN 8MM
C.A.I. ST. ALB. VT.

IF ANYONE CAN HELP IDENTIFY THESE AND TELL ME WHAT THEY ARE AND IF THERE ANY GOOD I WOULD A PPRECIATE IT.

    Ok, heres what I've found.
    8mm "Mauser 98" with set triggers (no where does it say mauser or 98)
    On left side of reciver "Bemehrfabrik (sp? scroll is tight and hard to read) Danzig"
    Eagle proof with no letter or number, same proof under barrel with a "C"
    Walnut Monte Carlo style stock. Stock looks very old, possibly original?? very european in design, fit is perfect.
    The are no military markings or crests on this rifle.
    24" Barrel has 4 lands and 1 "step" (outside barrel steps down in size...dont know the proper term)
    Any Ideas??? I want to say civilian prewar, but not real sure. Any help and a rough pricecheck would be most appreciated.

    No way to tell without:

    Caliber
    Breech markings
    Proofmarks

    By the sight, I can tell it is post 1918, but that's about it.

    It almost looks like a Siamese Mauser if that is a dust cover.

    Need more info.

    That's an easy one: Siamese Mauser. Japanese made; fires rimmed 8 mm cart. EXTREMELY strong action.
