7.62 NATO steel core?
I've run across a couple different types of 7.62NATO ammo (chinese). (not at my disposal to take apart a bullet) . I'm wondering if the chinese produced this commercially with a steel core like they did with the 7.62x39 ? Most Norinco ammo (and others) made pre-1988( roughly) seems to be steel core. Is this also true with the 7.62 NATO ammo?

They produced 7.62 NATO ammo that had a copper coated thin steel jacket over a lead core. It will attract to a magnet, but the core is lead. The casing was also copper washed steel as well. 0 -
The CMP was selling Dainish 30-06 Military ammo until of late, which
was copper washed over steel jacket. (Magnet shows this). Bought
two cases, and it is a great round. Of course it is Berdan primed
but was in M-1 clipped bandoleers and at a fair price. It seems to
have been sold out. Damn it. This made it cheaper than reloading.0
