Bushmaster V-Match question
I'm ready for my first AR. Pretty much settled on the Bushmaster v-match, what I can't make my mind up on is barrel length. I want either the 20, or the 24. My question is this: will the extra 4 inches be more noticable in velocity, or accuracy? Or will it just be an extra 4 inches to get in the way? Also, anyone have any complaints/praises for this make/model? Thanks.

Chris..... Bushmasters are very nice rifles. I have one and never have any problems with it.
Accuracy is not influenced as much by barrel length as it is the quality of the bullets you are using.
The 4" in extra length will give you more velocity as it would with any other firearm, but its not that big a deal with this gun in my opinion. If you plan to carry the gun in the field or use it in 3-gun competition I would take the 20" model.
I do a lot of 3-gun shooting, and I like either the 20" or the 16" barrel.

Yes, it is, and has the 20" bbl, with flat top upper. I have a Trijicon ACOG (Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight) TA01 scope mounted on it, and it shoots great.
I like Black Hills 68 grain match hollowpoint ammo. It shoots the best groups of all the ammo I've tried. The Black Hills ammo is loaded with Hornady bullets, so if your a reloader you can make your own and save a little money.
The 20" rifle is what I consider the best overall length for bullet velocity, and handling. Also the B.D.C (Bullet Drop Compensator) in the ACOG is geared for the 20" barrel.
