Mecgar magazines

I recently bought a Mecgar magazine for my Browning HP and it came with a plastic piece that looks like a plunger. What is it used for?

  Jokes are only funny if you also include the actual answer to the question. The plastic "plunger" is used to aid in the removal of the magazine floor plate- the plastic shaft has the needed reach and won't mar the magazine's base.

  Thank you MC. There is a screw on the magazine floor plate also. I had assumed that was what how I would remove the floor plate.

  Mark is correct about the little yellow plunger. The screw on the magazine is for the spring loaded mag ejection lever found on the actual Browning factory mag. Because of the mag disconnect safety, Browning mags often will not fall freely when the mag release button is hit. To assist in this process in recent years, they added a sping loaded lever to assist the mag in ejecting from the gun. This feature is found on the factory mag made for Browning by MecGar. The mags offered by MecGar, in the MecGar package have the same body and floor plate, but do not come with the spring loaded lever. The magazine itself is capable of having that added however. That is the screw you see in the floor plate. You would remove that screw to add the ejection system lever. Many find this to be unnecessary and MecGar has left it out on their "MecGar" magazine to keep the price down as well as it is restricted by Browning to only be sold on their version of the mag.

  Geez Mark, you are supposed to have fun on vacation, not be grumpy.[:0] Other than take the floor plate off, what else would one do with a plastic plunger that comes with a magazine? Let me think, maybe fix a tiny little toilet. Now really, is this funnier?
