Colt 1911 info needed
This is out of my usual subject matter, but I would like info on a Colt Auto pistol. This gun has a blued slide; top is matte, only the sides are polished. The frame is stainless; again, only the sides are polished. It is a MK IV Series 80, serial no. CFO13XX and is in 40 S&W cal. It must be fairly newly made as my sources do not list it or the serial number. Any help is much appreciated. TIA Emery

Sorry but the only Colt in my book lists a Colt CZ 40 which is no longer in production.

Thanks 4wheeler, can you tell me the dates that the gun was produced? Is it a limited production gun? What about value? Thanks. Emery

It was probably made around 1990. I have one of the all Stainless models. I have not seen one that didn't have a stainless frame. I have a slide that came off a pistol like yours. A fellow I know bought one and then decided to convert it to a 45 ACP. He then sold me the top end and I built a 40 using an Essex frame. They only made them for a couple of years. Everybody wanted high cap 40's at that time and they were not popular. Colt dropped them before the high cap mag ban. 0
