9mm Makrov Cartrige

In looking at my Federal chart, it look like the 9mm Makrov is a rimmed cartrige. Is this true?

  Thanks guys. It was just wishfull thinking on my part! I'm looking for a rimmed metric cartrige and I guess (except for the discontinued Federal) there just aren't any.

  A really fun---and sometimes useful---book to have is "Cartridges of the World". If you're semi-serious about firearms---or even just curious---it's a must-have. To-scale pix of the cartridges (in B&W only, alas) with interesting brief histories and editorial comments on usages (hunting, target-shooting, etc.), it makes for a good read. It can also help in cartridge identification. You may find it useful in looking up the 9mm Makarov (Makrov? Makaroni? Never could spell them furrin names anyhoo) which, as I recall, is 9mm X 18, as opposed to the 9mm Parabellum/Luger, which is 9mm X 19.

  The 9x18Mak is a .364 diameter (as opposed to the 9mm Luger and .380 which are .354) and is a straight-walled case 18mm long. Used in the Russian PM pistol, the Stechkin APS machine-pistol, the Bizon SMG, as well as several other Combloc weapons.[:D]
