SKS front sight removal
On an SKS after removing the pin that holds the front sight & bayonet lug, it appears as a small section of the barrel that may be removed. Is this threaded on or pressed. What is the best way to remove it? Thanks

It is pressed on. A little penetrating oil and a brass punch will usually free it. If you have access to a hydraulic press they can be removed very easily that way as well. Apply oil or anti-seize lube to the inside of the sight ass'y when reinstalling, it will make it easier to get everything in position without it putting up a fight[;)] Make sure its unloaded too[:D]
