I own one, and it has no takedown feature. It is fun to shoot and fairly accurate. It was not set up for a scope, but I had a scope rail installed and use a Bushnell 4 power scope.

Funny you should ask, I just bought one last Wednesday. Savage model 30. I don't have it yet (damned 10 day Kalifornia waiting period) but it didn't have scope rails & it doesn't take down.
The store had it marked down from $175 to $100 (New in box) so I bought it even though I have no real use for it. Just can't pass up a bargain.

The new versions are a crude reproduction of a cheap gun to start with. That said, the old ones are very neat, the new ones could be a little better, but are neat in their own way. If my dealer would get off that $175 I'd have one, and I wouldn't even blink if one was $100.
