Stevens 755A Disassembly???

I am working on a Steven 755A Semi-Auto shotgun for a friend and need some help with disassembly. I have the barrel and magazine tube off, the stock off, the trigger assembly out, but I am stuck on getting the bolt out. Any help would be appreciated.

    As I recall, the bolt is removed like the A-5 Brown. line up the cross pin in the bolt with the scalloped cut in the ejection port and drive the pin out from left to right, this releases the cartridge cutoff and the bolt handle so the bolt can be removed.

    Jody,

    Thanks for the info. I did what you said, and it got me a couple pieces closer. A little part (assuming this is the cartidge cutoff) and a spring came off the bolt. But I still don't see how I can get the bolt and bolt handle to come out.

    Any help is appreciated.

    I thought I remembered you had to take the butt stock off during the dissambly. Been over twenty years since I've opened one.

    Thanks Fred. I do have the buttstock off, but that bolt is stuck in there just as tight as can be.

    Have you taken the trigger assembly out of the gun? That needs to come out I believe.

    Did not read close enough, see you already have the trigger group out. Do you have the action spring out? The one that powers the bolt?

    Thanks a lot Fred. Took the action spring off the link and it all came apart. Just not sure how I will get the action spring back on after I get this filthy thing cleaned up, but that is a different problem.

    Hi Carrol,

    Did you take the spring out via the tube? Seems like that is how I did years ago. There was a hole in the tube so you could pin it when reassembling, I think.

    No, I just pulled it back off the link. I see that the end of the tube has slots like you could unscrew it if I had a large screwdriver. I am not sure if this holds the action spring in or not, but when I am home with my tools, I will see if it does. I didn't see any holes in the tube to pin it back.

    That was my memory from years ago and with a Remington, instead of the one you have. When you reassemble it, I think it would be easier to do if you can place the spring from the end of the tube.

    Glad to hear it finally came apart.
