Sears m53 (winchester m70)

Does anybody know if the model 53 in 243 is a SA or LA? I have one located but i'm not able to get my hands on it to see if it is a SA.Looking to rebarrel one to 270wsm.

  I believe you'll find that the .243 Win. round is nearly always found in short action (factory production) rifles. Exceptions, for example, would be old M-1903 Springfield or '98 Mauser variant military rifles that have been sporterized.

  I think you better check with a Gun Smith about rechambering to WSM May cost more than it's worth.
