S & W model 1000

Have a S & W model 1000. The piston rubber "ring" is shot. I was told I could use a piece of a heater home to act as the ring. Can I do this? Thanks.

ive used plumbing gaskets myself. just make sure they are of the exact dia and size. visit your local hardware store!

I USED A GARDEN HOSE GASKET UNTIL E-GUNPARTS HAD THEM IN STOCK.

see? gun companies have high overhead and charge the unsuspecting customer 3 times for the item!! same can be done for 1100's. i found rubber o rings for sinks work perfectly on 1100's too! a pack of 10 for the cost of one offical remington ring will fix you up for 30 years!
