New to 50 BMG experienced please look

I have on layaway a used State Arms 50 BMG rifle. The best deal I have seen on ammo so far is 100 rds of U.S. ball ammo for 124.00 (with can). I would like to hear from anyone experienced with this rifle or the 50 BMG. Any knowledge of the rifle or ammunition would be helpful. Thanks Steve.
