M-14 Stock, "Selector cut out" updated
I have a M14-E2 stock that I will be installing on a M1A. Is there a source for a wood filler plug for the selector cut out.
Also the stock is in very good shape, but just a little "spotty", like the oil in the stock has accumulated some dirt. What is a good way of cleaning/stripping the oil finish before re-oiling.

Check the past topice on wanted, there is someone who makes a "replica" selector" switch to fit the cut out in the stock 0 -
I believe that "Fred's", a source of original stocks, sells them. Sorry, no address for Fred's.
On the other hand, M14-E2 stocks are getting rather pricy, as they are collectible & scarce. You might want to consider selling yours & buying an original M14 stock instead, rather than ruining its collector value.

Found it and here is the answer as provided by Mark Christian:
"Fred's used to offer these switches and they looked so real that you be hard pressed not to believe that you were looking at an actual M14 Service Rifle. I have no idea if these are still available but you can call 336-879-2144 and ask. You might also visit his web site at www.fredsm14stocks.com and see if there is any information on his web page.

Thank Preban, I bought the stock from Fred but didn't see anything to fill in the cutout. I will drop him a line and see if he has anymore.
