Winchester 97 Paint Removal
Hey folks. Got a question here I hope somebody can help me with. I recently saw a Winchester 97 shotgun in 12ga at a local gunshop. I've wanted a 97 for a while and the price is right, but there is a problem. The previous owner hunted turkey with it, and gave it a camouflage paint job, spray paint I'm sure. My question, what would be the best way to go about removing this paint and "restoring" (dare I say it) this scattergun to a more orginal look? The shotgun was made in 1917, if the age matters. Thanks.

Get some MPro-7, disassemble the stock from all the metal pieces, spray, let sit 5 minutes, spray again, scrub. I've found that MPro-7 will remove model paint, Krylon, and cheap camo jobs on firearms.
If it doesn't work as well as you think it should, try some mineral spirits, but don't get any on the wood.
