Rossi Firearms quality?
I was just wondering what kinda a quality these things are, and what kind of groups they would shoot. I was looking at the .223 single shot. Would it make a good coyote gun with the right scope?

In my considered Opinion....They make Quality....Everyone I know in Brazil owns one...As for Target Accuracy? That depends upon The Sights and the Shooter...

Rossi makes decent firearms for the most part. No they aren't the "best" or the "most accurate tackdrivers" on the market but for somebody on a budget I wouldn't hesitate to reccomend one to somebody.

I like Rossi but here is the problem. My wife has a Rossi .38 special snub nose. It has fired fine 99% of the time but on two occassions it has jammed----just refused to fire
the cylinder refused to rotate and fire
once when she was in a gun safety training class and another time when I was trying to shoot a creature with CCI snakeshot. I have since fired it at the range with no problems but the two times it locked up and refused to fire make me question whether I can rely on that 5 shot revolver for anything.

beantole....you sure it was the firearm? Sounds to me like it was probably an ammunition problem. If it was a gun problem my bet is that it would have happened more often....sounds to me as though either the primer or the brass bulged out against the breach and prevented the cylinder from cycling.

While we're on the subject---I recently purchased a Rossi lever-action rifle in 44 Magnum. How are their leverguns? 0 -
It has been awhile and maybe things have changed, but when we sold their 38 spl revolvers, they came with tags saying not to shoot with jacketed ammunition. 0 -
Bought my 13 year old Daughter a Rossi youth single shot .22lr for her b'day last December. It came with a .410 shotgun barrel, also. She likes it, I like it, and there will be more Rossis in our future.

rldowns3: You know, you may well be right..maybe it was bad ammo, especially the CCI shotshell......It does have a wierd looking primer and head..........and rsnyder55, I'mshowing my ignorance here but what exactly is "jacketed ammo"?

Trstone. The Rossi lever guns are good. The new Rossi-puma brand is great as well. 0 -
I've had a Rossi snub nose stainless .357 for over 2 years now. It's shot over 500 rounds of .38 and .357 combined without any problems. I think Rossi is a great "bang for the buck". 0
