High point 995 carbine

I have a 995 carbine in the 9mm do they make a higher capacity mag for it ?or is there any mags that can be converted to fit with out alot of machining? also what is the effective range with this using the p loads verses the common loads? Thanks Steve

  To my knowledge,High Point doesn't
  offer any.I haven't seen any other
  sources either.Mine stays behind the
  seat,so a hicap would get in the way,
  so I really haven't looked for one.
  I will be at the gun show this weekend
  so I'll look and ask at the "clip" booth.

  These guns came out after the Hi Cap ban in 1994 for that reason there are 10 round magazines available only.

  I contacted the manufacture with this same question before and they said there were no hi caps available for it. Not even any aftermarket.

  My 995 shoots to the same point of aim at 100yds with +P's and full-house reloads, my reduced loads are still within 2" at the same distance. It's only way past its' useful range that you'll get any serious (>4" shift in impact)flyers. I consider the 9mm's useful range as 130 yds since it only has around 200-240ftlbs of energy by then, and will surely graze or wound your prey without really endangering it.

  There are Hi Cap Mags for it (15 Rounds) but they are made by ProMag.
  DO NOT Buy THEM. They feed improperly and are causing FTF's with everyone. YES, I owned one. Yes, It sucked. Instead i have 4 10rd mags and developed my reload technique.
  
  Great little gun. Ugly, I know- but it never misses a beat.

  +1 on the 15 round mags being crap, I have two that can't be counted on to work for a whole mag.

  The 15 rounders are crap from promag- I concur. I bought two and sent them back to Sportsmansguide.
