Value M-12 Pigeon
Have a chance to buy a Model-12, 12G, pigeon grade w/30in full,vent rib, original wood/pad, pistol grip, black diamond,#1943xxx, 99%. Help me on the value.

Steve you listed a 7 digit serial number, (1943xxx) this would be a 1962 vintage gun. They stopped offering "Black Diamonds) in 1937, about serial number 750xxx. Unless there is an error in your serial number, I would be leary. If your serial number is correct, there should be a Pigeon engraved above the serial number on the receiver extention. If this is is serial number, 1943xx, which would make it a 1919 vintage. So if it has the solid red Winchester pad it was added. I've seen alot of Md 12s, if this is 1919 vintage in 99%, remove the barrel assy. from the receiver, look at the barrel chamber ring, it should be in the "white" (not blued) also look at the safety, the red paint should be almost "blood red" not bright red. These old guns, the blueing tends to fade and flake on the receiver even if it's been in a closet for 85 years.
If you added one to many x's and this is a 1919 gun, in original condition, (no reblue) I say the value would start at $2000, could go as high as $3500, depending on the wood, small forearm, extended forearm, extra long extended forearm. butt stock could be a pistol grip, or straight, straight is rarer.
If this is a 1962 gun, it would of had to been a special order to have "Black diamonds" I don't believe that happened. So if this is a 62 gun, with Black Diamond wood, it's still a pigeon. If it's original, reference above, no reblue , $1500 to $2500. Again double check the vintage and check closely for evidence of reblue. Regards Dave0
