Shipping Ammunition Question Part 2

I appologize for the confusion. I can see how it happened. The regulation I first posted was for the Department of Transportaion and was for normal ground shipment of small arms ammunition via commercial carriers. The US Postal Service (not United Parcel Service) has further restrictions that do not allow small arms ammunition to be mailed.
My last post concerned the restrictions in the US Postal Service Domestic Mail Manual which cover the specific restrictions on mailing of ORM-D materials.
I have been working with Federal regulations for a long time and they can be confusing to experienced users, not to mention the casual ones.
I'm sorry I wasn't more clear on the specific regulations I was quoting.
To simplify my posts, ammunition can be reclassed as ORM-D and shipped by commercial carriers. It cannot, however, be mailed because of the restrictions in the Domestic Mail Manual.

Most Post Offices will have a poster by the desk that depicts the things you cannot ship. It has drawings of fireworks, flammable liquids, and one lone cartridge at the bottom. Always took this to mean no ammunition. Mike 0 -
