Ruger service

I just wanted to let people know what great service I got from Ruger on my NEW MODEL SS SUPER BLACKHAWK. The transfer bar broke, I sent it(through FedEx) back to Ruger to be repaired, the shipping charge was $30. Ruger replaced all the guts, repaired the canted barrel,and cleaned and polished the revolver, all for NO CHARGE. Ruger even paid the return shipping, and it took less than 2 weeks. Thats service in my book!

    Ruger did a free service of repair on my Redhawk.(well pleased with them) Not so with Browning Hi-Power.They said to send them my brand new gun and they would re-imburse me for the shipping.They returned it minus one of the clips that came with it.Said I sent it with only one clip.

    After calling them three times and sending copy's of receipts two times I gave up. [:(!] [V]

    No more Browning's for me.








    I am confused at times.

    I can't say how many times Ruger's Service has pulled my bacon out of the flame. I got a set of rings with my 10-22Magnum that wouldn't fit the scope tube; a quick call got me a free set in the right size-I sent the "extra" set back, thinking we'd just "swap"; but they sent 'em back with a note that said I should always have a spare set in case I change scopes!
    Service like that even rivals Dillon's!

    If you know it all; you must have been listening.WEAR EAR PROTECTION!

    Ruger's service is impeccable. I have a mini-30 that I bought used off my uncle. I had a problem with the trigger guard take-down assembley not being tight enough. They told me to send it in and they would repair it regardless of me not being the original owner. There was no charge for repair or delivery. They also were able to get it back to me w/in 3 weeks.
    It's hard to believe that such an irresponsible, urban-polluting industry could excercise so much care and respect for all of their customers. Hat's off, RUGER!! Excellent Job!![;)]

    I'm glad to hear of the good service. I own a 10/22, a .45 Vaquero, and a #1 in .300 winmag. Should I have any problems, I'm happy to know that I'll have as good of service as I've had shooting them.

    I restocked a 77, .308 and filed some of the metal. I sent in the metal that was "damaged" to be reblued, and fully expected to pay. I kept the unaltered parts. Ruger not only reblued the parts I sent,at no charge, but also returned every metal part needed to complete my rifle!!!!Can you believe it???-Bob

    In about 1960 I found my 44 Blackhawk had a soft frame. Ruger wouldnt do anything about it so I heat treated the frame. It came out to the right hardness but should have been done in a nitrogen atmosphere. Because of the presence of oxygen in air, the frame and all the holes were coated with a very tough scale. The frame was ruined and sat in a cigar box for about 20 years. After that fool in Alaska who shot himself playing with an SA Ruger 44, won the suit compelling Ruger
    to do a mod and retrofit on their single actions, I contacted Ruger with my story. They said ship us the parts and we will send you a new, New Model 44 Mag which they did.
    While my original 44 Ruger didn't loosen up from considerable shooting, I have seen several old model 357s that did.

    That fool in Alaska was using a 41 mag, not a 44. The gun in question now resides in my gun safe. (it has been converted)

    I had the recoil bolt stop pin fall out of my 10/22 (no idea where, it had to be when I had it apart - I have no idea how long it was missing either).
    Anyway, I looked online at thier parts catalog then called them and ordered the parts. I figured there'd be a big surcharge for stuff, even if it was a roll pin or something. I ordered essentially everything that would be needed to rebuild a 10/22 (springs, extractor, firing pin, ect.) for something like $13...

    That was very fair, even though I realize the gun is less than $200, some places I've seen (Remington) wanted almost the same price for the firing pin spring for their 700MLS as I could get the entire conversion kit to shoot 209's with (I had MAJOR problems with it when I first got it and no Rem. authorized dealers seemed to be able to find fault, even though it would do it about 30% of the time...

    I just wish Ruger made a gun I want now... I don't like the looks/feel of their mini's for hunting, they quit making thier nice old-style .44 carbine, I HATE thier synthetic stocks, and don't want a single-shot... I did like thier All-Weather Red Label, it was a neat idea and a good gun, but my Benelli SBE won out anyway...

    Today my vision our our future comes true; a chicken in every pot and a cap in every @$$.
