Ivers johnson revolver 22cal

I have this old pistol it reads on top I.J.A.& C.WKS.FITCHBURG MASS USA. IJ target sealed 8 serial # is M19871 , I'm wanting to know if miLITARY, WHEN MADE OR APPROX, & any & all info including value its in excellent condition 75% of blue remains.

  Iver Johnson Target Sealed 8 - .22LR Caliber, 8 shot, 6 or 10" barrel, blue, fixed sights, rubber grips. Mfg. 1931 to 1957.

  I don't think that any of these were used by the U.S. Military.

  xracer had given you good information as to the value of the 'target sealed 8'.
  
  your revolver serialn number M19871 was manufactured in 1946 and the only military connection it could have is if it were purchaed by the u.s.o. service clubs to be used on their ranges. i know iver johnson shotguns were purchased by the u.s.o but have not found any information that confirms any pistol purchases by them.
