SINGELL SHOT REVOLVER???????????????
A Neighbor brought over a singel shot Revolver, A Model 101 22lr Savage, Has any body ever seen one??? If so what are they?? Thanks for any responce.

the savage model 101 was manufactured between 1959 and 1968.
they were not very popular but still turn up as gun shows. i paid $19.95 for mine in 1965 and today they will bring $100 to $175 depending on condition.

It looks like a revolver but the "cylinder" is connected to the barrel & snaps to the side to load & unload. Makes a very good gun
to train beginners. Can't remember why I sold mine but I must have needed the money at the time.0 -
I just bought one about 3 weeks ago at a show for $100. Very neat little gun. Very weird, too. I like odd stuff, so I bought it.

Ruger also made a single shot revolver called the Hawkeye which was based on their blackhawk frame and chamber in the 256mag, only 3300 where made in 1963 and 1964, to say the least they bring a premium now days 0 -
I don't think the round was called a "magnum". But... I'm here to learn. Wasn't it the "Jet" or something close to that?

no the 22 jet was chamber in the S$W model 53 back in 1961 , which had extraction problems , Ruger solved the problem when they introduced the Hawkeye as a single shot, chamber in the 256 mag ,, the cyl was a breech block that cammed to the side for loading 0
