    are we talking about what savage use to do to their 750 series shotguns in the 60's?

    Assuming you NEVER EVER EVEN think about firing the gun after it's enamaled. Your up into heat treat temps there, and the gun itself would be ruined as a firearm.

    Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.

    its acid etched engraving on an alloy receiver that had a very glossy finish over a beautiful anodizing. how it was done...got me, but it was safe and worked for years. take a stroll thru gb and type in savage 775 and see what you get!

    So enameling the receiver, barrel, frame, mechanism and such are out.

    This still leaves the stock, grips, etc.
