What is Uzi Mini Carbine really worth?
Can anyone help me with the value of a Uzi Mini carbine New In Box? I showed the gun to a local dealer and he told me it was worth 500. In a yr 2000 price guide It showes 2,000. NIB. I noticed that only Uzi carbine a or b models have been listed for sale on Gun broker, but no Mini Carbines to look at the prices. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Looks to me like your local dealer
either doesn't know Uzi's,or he's
trying to get to you.IMHO

Thanks for the imput. I guess the local dealer thought I was going to give it away to him. He is a class 3 dealer and knows his autos and semi-autos, so I think he was trying to get a wooper deal. I have no experience with selling on Gun Broker yet. Do you think I could get close to what the book value is? I have sold online before, and have a 100% reating on ebay but this would be my first try on Gun Broker.

I have purchased some things on the
GB auction,but have never tried to sell
anything.It would certainly be worth a shot.
Just set a reserve that you can live with
and see what happens.If I understand correctly
It doesn't cost you a thing until it sells.

Is your full or semi auto? Look at completed auctions. Semi ran between $1900-2300. Full auto about 2-2.5 times that in price. 0 -

Vector Arms has been running regular ads in the Shotgun News selling Post-ban Mini Uzi carbines for $1295. The full-size, post-ban with fixed stock is advertised at $875. Both are adverstised as "all IMI." 0 -
Go to completed auctions. Go back 90 days and type in mini uzi. 0 -
Your "Mini UZI" shold be worth in the neighborhood of $1,900 to $2,200 if you have the box, papers, hard case, etc., and it is in excellent or better condition. Condition is important so that will be the thing that would detract from these prices as would the lack of the box, etc.
Vector Arms is making "Post Ban" stuff from left over Group Industries parts......none of which can legally have a regular folding stock as it was installed by IMI......Hence "POST BAN" and always will be! It's all in whether you want a "copy" or a "REAL" UZI......
You cannot compare the Post Ban and Pre-Ban guns unless you can compare "apples" to "pumpkins" or some such other non-matching items.....!
Hope this helps......I recently sold an UZI Model B, NIB for $1,195 at a local Gun Show. It didn't sell here on Gunbroker when I listed it and had a Reserve of $1,150. They are a little slow to sell because of the economy......lots of lookers with no money! Good Luck!

I actually "compare" pre and post-ban all the time (as I'm sure many other firearm enthusiasts do)--yes, I'll agree they are different, but they have enough similiarity, that I ask myself whether or not the features of the pre-ban are worth the hundreds of dollars more in price over a post-ban.
Additionally, if the '94 ban is allowed to expire next year, the premium one pays for a "pre-ban" now, will in all likelihood, disappear as new firearms with the "pre-ban" features are manufactured.
Both post-ban configured guns and the likelihood of the ban's expiration, are keeping a cap on the pre-ban gun prices. It's simple economic principles at work...0 -
On the current market your Mini should bring between 1600-2000 REAL money RETAIL. Wholesalers are paying around 1400-1500 for them now. I love to buy pre-ban stuff at post- ban prices. 0 -
It should be noted here, the "1994 Ban" did little for the UZI. It was "Banned by the 1989" Ban and no matter what occurs with the 1994 Ban Sunsetting or Not, you won't be able to "make" an UZI in the "Pre-1989" configuration, (Folding Stock). The UZI is no longer imported and would be illegal to do so......since the 1989 Ban. Those that are here are the only ones that will be here!
Recently, the "Old Sacramento Armory" in Sacramento, California, acquired a large stock of IMI Receivers, made prior to 1989. However, these were never completed into a gun. According to BATF this means if you do so, you will have to do it using the requisite number of "U.S. Parts" in ordeer for it to be legal. Only way they are legal is without a folding stock......only a wooden permanently attached stock or the folding one welded open will suffice, I'm told. Anyway, these receivers do give you a platform from which to "jump off" and make a present for the BATF should you desire to break the law.......!
These receivers were manufactured before the 1989 Ban, shipped to the U.S. arriving "After" the 1989 Ban Date. They were "stored" in a waterfront warehouse and litigated for some 14 plus years. They have finally been released and are being sold for "replacement parts" or as in the case of Vector, manufactured into "Post Ban" configured guns. It is a very "tangled" situation here, but even if the 1994 Ban is in place or gone, the UZI is little affected by it. If you find a nice one and its a legal gun before 1989 and you want one, better get it!
The Original Model A and Model B IMI made Carbines are bring $1,200 to $1,500 in LNIB or better condition in today's market. Unless they "Roll Back" the 1989 Ban, the UZI will continue to be a scarce and very desireable gun as it was made. The Norinco "Knock-Offs" and the others such as "Group Industries" will undoubtedly have their "niche" but highly unlikely they will approach the value of the true "Pre-1989 Ban" UZI's....!!! Waiting on an IMI UZI purchase for the 1994 Ban to Sunset is absurd at the least, and probably will cost you money in the long run as the UZI is NOT destined to get cheaper!

Vector makes their own receivers; it is a US gun with their receiver. If the '94 ban expires, they can make UZI's on their receiver with all the "evil" features. 0
