I have a Rem. 700 in the 270, I shoot 130gr ballistic tips loaded with 49.5 grains of IMR4064. I have chrono'd this load and am getting 3000 fps out of it. I have taken whitetails out to 200 yards with this load and very little, if any tracking has been needed. Hope this helps.

Go with the 130gr Ballistic tip, I have had excellent results with 58gr of IMR 4831 and CCI 250 primers. This will give 3100fps out of a 22" barrel. Also have used 54gr of H414 with great results.

Hey, Osprey you look familar! I thought I was the only one who used the same name here and there. Also I can tell you Ballitic Tips = No Tracking.

    Hey Cletus85,

Looking for some 100gr ballistic tips for my .257 JDJ, wouldn't know where I could find some do you? LOL, Had been trying to figure out where I had seen your name before. Hope to be sending you some money in a few days!!

Here's a golden oldie that has performed over the years for me in a Remington Model 700BDL .270Win. Either the 130 gr Hornday Spire point or the Remington 130 gr Cor-Loc pushed by 54 grs of IMR 4350 and ignited by CCI LR primers. I have never c-graphed the load, but according to the books, it should be around 3000FPS. I have been using this load for whitetails in PA and it is accurate enough that I have taken head/neck shots on deer in thick brushy areas where the shoulders could not be seen.
    Good luck.....Moose
