Browning A5 light load vs heavy
I recently acquired three browning a5's, 1 12 ga. mag, 1 light 12, and one 20 ga. mag. How are loads classified as either light or heavy? I reload my own loads and generally use 23-24 grains of unique with 1 1/8 oz of shot for the 12 ga. or 34 grains of H-6 (Win. 540) with 1 1/4 oz of shot. For the 20 ga. I generally load 1 oz loads but haven't yet loaded any for the 20 ga. Is there a rule of thumb for what is considered light or heavy?

Try your loads with the washer and bushing set for heavy. If the weapon doesn't function correctly, set it for light.

since reloading changes everything on a gun, stay with the advice you were given above. its sound. but normally for 12ga, 1 1/8 oz and below is light, 1 1/4 and up is heavy. for 20 ga, 7/8 oz or less is light, 1 to 1 1/8oz is heavy. 0
