260 Remington Ammo
Is my research correct, is the Remington 140 gr PSP the only factory ammo available? My son is wanting to move up from his .243 to a larger caliber but does not want to go to a .270 or 30-06.
I cannot convince him to shoot a .257 and it is breaking my heart.
He wants to either shoot a .260 or a 6.5X55 but the only factory ammo available for the .260 is the 140 gr. PSP.
Any help?
Thanks,

You're a statistic whether you want to be or not.

If not you can always reload and there are plenty of components 0 -
They also load the 125 grain Nosler Partition in their factory ammo. I have a box. You will have to look under their premium ammo to find it.

They also make or at least made a 120gr ballistic tip load, which I used to kill one whitetail with excellent results. Mine was homebrewed of course, but this is or was factory loaded by Remington as well. 0 -
Thanks for the information.

The .260rem is essentially a .308win case with a .264" (6.5mm) bullet. It has almost identical external ballistics to the 6.5x55 swed. Its a jam up cartridge. Though the .257roberts is a great cartridge also, I really see the .260rem becomming more and more popular.
Tell him to also look into may a 7mm-08. I think he will like it too.0 -
257, As you have been told already, there are other factory choices out there! I tried the 120gr Nosler Remington factory load and the 125 Nosler Partition Remington factory loads in the 260 I got from aglore for my daughter Sarah. The 120's did .70" and the 125 Partitions did about 4.5"!!!! That's from a rifle that I get sub .5" out of with handloads using 100 grain Nosler BT! Give the 120's a try or roll your own. GHD 0 -
Federal also loads factory ammo for the .260. Some lots may be bombs, but Rem is not the only manufacturer selling factory ammo.

Did you ever notice that the 6.5 Arisaka is almost identical. Not much really new in the world,
