Hopkins and Allen No. 6

I recently inherted a Hopkins and Allen double action no. 6. I woul like to knw more about it but cannot find anything online. I need help. It shots 5. Has the numbers 722 on the bottom of the handle. Says Hopkins and Allen Arms Co. Norwich. Conn. USA on one side of the topand Double Action No. 6 on the other side of the top. Says H&A in the plastic on the handle. I think its a 38 cal. Solid frame, hammerless short barrel. Fair condition with some wear.

  I can't find anything on a Hopkins & Allen #6....but maybe it's listed under another name.
  
  Please give us all of the info you have on the gun....caliber, number of shots, barrel length, finish, a detailed description, and ALL of the writing on the gun.
  
  If, in addition, you can post a picture...even better.

  It has 5 shots. A hexagon barrel. It has the numbers 722 on the bottom of the handle. On the top of the gun it says Hopkins and Allen Arm, Co. Norwich, Conn. USA on one side and Double Action No. 6 on the other. I think its a 32 cal. In the plastic on the handle it says H&A

  Is it a breaktop or solid frame? Hammer, hammerless, or bobbed hammer? What is the barrel length? Large or small frame?

  Found your revolver in one of my references, it's listed as the "Hopkins & Allen XL No. 6 Double Action".
  It differs from your description in having what appears to be wooden grips ( Replacements? ), There's a knurled pin underneath the barrel, ( Used to remove cylinder? ). Front sight has a very unusual profile.
  The "No. 6" denotes the caliber, it's listed as .38 M & H. Approximate dates of production late 1870's to late 1880's.
