50cal should we suck one up now???

was just wondering if all this talk abought baning the 50 call is hot or hype????? I want one but cant afford one, but if our last chance is near then ill go ahead and do whatever it takes to get one. hopefully semi auto!!!

  I don't personally see it passing, but I've been wrong about laws that made it before... In some of the bills present wording it mentions anything larger than 1/2" (.50 caliber), which of course could include shotguns too. IF they do ban the .50 then I think eventually it'd only be the .50 BMG, in my humble opinion...

  I'd be curious to know what percentage of violent crime is commited with a .50 bmg. I suppose its one of those "weapons of choice" for the average armed robber street punk. [;)]

  If you live in California it is a possibility. The 50 Cal ban didn't make it thru both the State Assembly and Senate this year. However, it is what is called a "two year bill' meaning it can be brought up again in 2004 without some of the time consuming committee meetings. No one knows how Gov. Arnold would react. I dont see much of a chance nationally unless some loony or terrorist uses one. I dont know what is happening in other states. Just trying to keep up with California laws (guns and other ones) will give you a mental hernia......Hondo

  I'd LOVE to see the anit-gun buttmonkeys try to justify banning .50 BMGs on the grounds that an expensive, 25-pound single-shot rifle that uses expensive ammo is the "weapon of choice" for ANY criminal...
