Is the neck size of the case of a match 6.5mm-284
different diameter then a non match a 6.5mm-284 case?

  The neck size is specified by the customer if he is having a match gun built and wishes to have a tight neck.
  
  Your caliber is .264" and brass would be say .013" x 2 therefore the loaded round would be .290". The gunsmith would probably choose something along the lines of a .295-.297" neck to be safe with any factory ammo. But if you wish to work the brass less and create a faster seal,..you could ask for a .290" neck and turn your case necks to .0125" so you have a .001" clearance. It boils down to asking for a tighter neck than saami specs or just getting one with the run of the mill neck dia. I would go with a .290"-.292" or somewhere around there if I were having an aftermarket barrel chambered, but turning is a must the tighter you go.
  
  The cases will all vary by manufacturer in their thickness,..but unless they were specifically called match on the headstamp,..I would figure aaround .013-.014" would be standard. They then must obviuosly be turned down to fit in the tight neck match chambers.
  
  I have seen Winchester match brass on their 308win be thinner than standard rounds,..and Lake City Match brass be thineer than standard ball ammo as well..
  
  why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....
