I have owned 3 of these over the years. Neat little sucker, isn't it? They were well ahead of their time in the 70's and 80's. They used captured recoil springs and bushingless bull barells before anyone else. They were truly innovative guns and paved the way for the modern .45 subcompact market. They only comparable gun at the time, was the Star model PD. It had an alloy frame vs. the Detonics stout steel frame, so it could not handle plus pressure loads, or sustained fire like the Detonics.

Try www.bighammer.com to get more detailed info, but I love mine, and if you shoot and carry yours, you will love it, too. As far as value, there is alot of wiggle depending on which model, box or not, factory papers or not, original magazines or not, blah, blah. You can get parts from Brownells, if needed.

Good luck and welcome to the wonderful guns of Detonics!
