IMR 4350 in BAR?

I know about the precautions on using slow burning powders in M-1 Garands, but do the same rules apply for rifles like Remington 742's and Browning BAR's?

My all time favorite deer load for my old Model 70 in .270 is 53.5 gr. of 4350 and WLP (standard) primers under a Hornady 130 Spire Point.

My question is: will this load generate excessive port pressure in these modern sporters, or is the overall operating system capable of coping with higher port pressure than the Garand?

  My load data for .270Win as starting with 52.0 of 4350, to almost 56.0 using a 130 anything jacketed and standard primer.
  This load starts at about 2885fps 12 feet from the muzzle, and tops out at around 3150 or so.
  The 56.0 is a MAXIMUM load, so reduce powder charge 11% and watch for shrapnel if you choose to increase.

  The load I mentioned above is one I've used for several years, and it consistently shoots under an inch at 100 yards and chronos at around 2925 fps in my '59 vintage Model 70. Don't really want to look for a new load for that rifle.
  
  I was mainly curious about whether IMR 4350 is suitable for use in the sporting-type gas operated rifles (i.e., the BAR) or whether a slightly faster powder should be used as is recommended for the M-1 Garand.
  
  I just didn't recall ever seeing any discussion on this topic before, and when the opportunity to buy a nice older Belgian BAR presented itself, it was a question that came to mind.....
