CETME vs L1A1
Which one is a better buy as a reliable shooter the CETME or the L1A1?
My buddy says to get the CETME sporter but thought that would aske you guys for some unbias opinions.
Thanks.
Pack slow, fall stable, pull high, hit dead center.

I would also like to know if the Century Cetme guns are reliable. I am looking at them because they are so cheap. And the surplus 308 ammo is super cheap too. $60 for 400 rounds. That sounds like a good time to me. Any help for someone here? Thanks Rob. 0 -
I have an Imbel L1A1, and a DSA STG58, and both shoot and eject reliably; sometimes the Imbel will pull the cases in half, but it throws all the brass out.
I think the CETME is probably reliable enough, but I wouldn't buy one.
If you know it all; you must have been listening.WEAR EAR PROTECTION!0 -
A couple of guys locally have century cetme's and they're fun to shoot. They aren't real pretty, but they feed/ function great, and they're cheap! I've heard of a few people (online, not personally) who have had feeding problems with the centurys, but if you get a lemon, you can send it back and century will fix it or replace it. Best idea is to get a cetme AND an L1A1! 0 -
I have both. The Cetme's barrel is pinned into the trunion and the trunion is then welded to the receiver.
The L1A1's barrel is screwed into the receiver and (for my money) is a better built rifle.
But, if you got the cash get both, prices are good right now.

I have a Cetme and it's a reliable, cheap, accurate, fun shooter. I've no experience with the L1A1.

I have one of each, I like shooting the L1A1 more than the CETME.....
Which one is a better buy? the lower priced one of course![:D]
If you can afford to, buy both!
If not, get an L1A1 first......that's my opinion[8D]

I have both from century arms, and haven't had a malfunction from either. 0 -
gunner8479 - Why do you like it better? 0 -
I've been considering getting a CETME lately, just how accurate are they?
Are they easy to clean?0 -
Why do I like it better?....because I have two upper assemblies for my L1A1....a carbine length and a standard length.......there are also more accessories available for the L1A1, some of which I purchased...The L1A1 also has an adjustable gas regulator which is really neat and handy, it also has a carrying handle and a crapload of parts on the market available..I recently bought a complete replacement lower for $30.00 from Tapco...not bad huh?
The CETME I've got is a great shooter as well, I shoot the heck out of it...but sometimes it's picky with certain kinds of "cheap" ammo.
They're both easy to maintain and with prices so low, now is the best time to buy![:)]
