contender .45/.410 barrel
I recently was given a ten inch contender .45/.410 barrel. My question is when exactly is the tube supposed to be screwed into the barrel? Just for .410 birdshot or for slug also. I know it won't work for .45. I just don't want to lose a hand.

You put it in the barrel when shooting .410 shells. 0 -
I don't have one but my guess would be it's a removeable "choke" tube, to make the barrel suitable for shooting .410 shot shells.
If you're shooting solid projectiles, without a doubt - LEAVE IT OUT or you'll hurt yourself.
Or give Thompson Center a call & ask; they'll answer just about any question you can ask, if they know the answer.
