    How are you going to get the weld into the chamber so you dont have the case blow into the hole? Pressure test barrels have holes in their chambers. They blow out a slug of case brass which compresses a copper slug.
    This is a low pressure cartridge that I'm guessing is 30,000psi or less. I'm also assuming there is at least 1/8" of chamber wall thickness at the hole.
    The pressure on a 1/16" pin would be 90 lbs so properly filling the hole should work but whatever enters the chamber has to be machined to match the chamber wall or cases will hang up. Minimize enlarging the hole & use the smallest dia., fine thread alloy screw made from a socket head cap screw. Cut it off and rosette weld on the outside. Follow this by rechambering to trim the screw end.
    To go extra safe you could machine a band to fit around the chamber to contain the screw if it should move.

    The short answer: No--don't do it.

    Just for the sake of conversation: You could weld the hole closed, and a talented welder could do so in such a way that the weld plug would protrude into the chamber. You could then attempt to cut the weld out of the chamber using a chambering reamer. Weld is very hard, and would probably destroy the reamer ($95-125). Also, you would probably wind up with some sort of chamber surface imperfection that would make extraction difficult and perhaps ruin each round of brass fired. Use, or sell it, as a wallhanger.
