BROKEN TRIGGER GUARD
Does any one know of a way to repair a broken aluminum trigger guard like on the stevens modles 67, 79, etc.? I have tried a couple epoxies and the strain from the hammer spring etc. rebreaks it. any help would be appreciated. Also if anyone has a trigger guard or complete trigger group for a 20 guage Stevens model 79 I would be interested. Thanks, Don. sportsmans@alltel.net

If all else fails take it to someone who has a TIG welder and the skill to do the job. Success depends to some extent where the break is. 0 -
You might want to use JB Weld. It's sold almost everywhere, and I've fixed all kinds of stuff with it; like a CB base antenna, a Chevy 6cyl engine block with a 4"X1/2" crack in the water jacket, shooting trophy that got dropped & broke the arms off, steel door jamb with a split in a seam, crack in a woodstove, generator stand for VW engine, I even bedded a rifle with it once (and for all time).
If you can't find a replacement and no other options present themselves; you could cast it in about an hour. Just melt down a coupla beer cans and pour it into the sandcast of the guard. You might have to do some finishing, but you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that if it breaks again; you can make another.

Thanks for all the responses; I ordered a complete trigger group from gunparts. I think they said the mod. 67 interchanges so I hope I get one that fits. Don. 0
