Yugo SKS accessories?

Are there generic SKS parts that *don't* work for a yugo sks?

I'm interested in buying an unissued yugo, and putting on a synthetic stock, bi-pod, and possibly a scope.

  If you haven't done so yet you might want to get acquainted with TAPCO, www.tapco.com and get a copy of their catalog. They offer at least 3 different plastic stocks, and all are advertised to fit all SKS rifles. As for bipods, there are some Chinese-made types that will clamp onto any gas cylinder (also carried by TAPCO). There are several different types of scope mounts available from numerous sources. Some involve replacing the bolt cover with a new part that either has the scope mount machined in, or mounts screwed onto the cover. There are others that replace the rear sight, etc.

  Be careful in your modifications on the Yugo, it already has two "evil features" (bayo and grenade launcher). If you want to add a detachable mag or a pistol grip stock you have to remove some of the other features to stay under the two feature limit.

  According to the catalogue the gas tubes do not interchange.
  Yugo is kinda on its own & the price is jacked up.

  I have heard that the bayonet on the Yugoslavian SKS's will be in the way of putting a generic stock on.
