Bersa Lusber 84 Disassembly

Is there a secret to this?I tried pulling slide all the way back and raising up.No luck.[V]

  Not familiar w/ that model. Maybe it's a 32. If it is similiar to Bersa 83 or 85, did you push down the lever on the right side which lets the slide go all the way back? Then lift on slide.

  bersa 84 is a 32 acp.there is no lever on right side,just one on left to hold slide open.i am stumped[:(][:(]

  To field strip a Bersa Model 84. the slide lock on the left side of the frame most be removed, push it from the right side of the frame. It will only move to the left alittle. With a small flat screwdriver ply it out from the left. There is a small bushing or sleeve inside the hole that you removed the slide lock from. It is held in place by the backend of the recoil spring guide rod. Using a small L shaped tool (I used a metal scribe with a L shaped end) reach into this bushing and depress the rear end of the recoil spring rod and push it forward toward the muzzle and at the same time push the bushing from the right side to the left. If it doesn't move you are not pushing that rod enough toward the muzzle. With the bushing removed the slide, barrel, recoil spring/w rod will move forward off the lower frame.Take note that this bushing has a cut out in it. It must face forward toward muzzle on reassemble.If this fails, pull slide to the rear allittle, Clamp onto the front of the recoil rod wih a pair of visegrips and pull it forward. This will pull the recoil rod from the cut out in that bushing. Than push out that bushing/w the slide lock from right to the left. Those vicegrips will damage the end of that recoil rod.
