sear &roebuck ID

My son in law brought a sears&roebuck bolt action 30.06 to me asking for ID and value can any one help me with this one? it is a Sears&Roebuck Mod 53-30.06 sprg Mod No.27332010 says made in the USA. any help with this ID and value would be great. the gun is in great shape and has a weaver scope on it. Thanks Steve

  Blue Book say its a Model 70 Winchester

  any Idea of the value or do I use the value in the catalog of firearms for the model 70?

  Firearms sold under the Sears (or Wards, Western Auto, ect.) names have substantually less value then the underlying model with manufacturers name. Not that they are not fine rifles, but they almost always have a little less fancy and there is little collector interest, so they sell as shooters only. Actually value depends upon condition. Sometimes they are actually better rifles than the manufacturers spec rifles, but still little market.
