    take it to a good gunsmith, a lot can be done if all the wood is there. no reason to take up safe room with an unusable rifle.

    Mike is right, it can probably be repaired or at worst, the stock can be replaced and either way you have a shooter. Otherwise it is a broken wall hanger.

    Think synthetic... keep the old one for show or to keep the value for a resale or whatever.

    I did the same thing moose is talking about with one of my grandpas rifles. I got a syn. stock which made for a great shooter without having to alter grandpas gun permanently from the way I got it.
