If it is the ones that are going for $299 at SOG and like places {i belive those are all stamped recievers} then he is asking way too much. I would give no more than $300 for a used HK clone.

Those with the wood furniture sold to dealers for $299. We sold them out the door for $375. The wood furniture ones are the best because they were made with complete kits. All the parts exept the receiver were from one gun and no parts were mismatched. I have one that has had several thousand rounds shot through it with no problems. It has the stamped receiver as well. If it is used, then $400 is a bit high unless he has several Mags with it and maybe some other extras. If it is not used then that is in the neighborhood. You cannot get the wood furniture guns any more and the ones with the plastic stocks are not from complete gun kits. They are mismatched parts but they are still decent guns. Century had a problem with some guns due to bolts/head spaceing but they have fixed the problems now and those were mainly guns with the plastic furniture. All their Cetmes are $309 at the cheapest to dealers unless you buy in quanity. I hope this helps you out. If you want to check new dealer prices got to:
    www.southernohioguns.com or
    www.centerfiresystems.com
There are other distributors as well but those 2 came to mind right away.

God protect me from my friends, I can take care of my enemies...

Looks like they covered everything but the "heffy" part. I've never heard of heffy, but HESSE is VERY BAD. Back away and run for your life. Hesse (now known as Vulcan Arms), has a history of crap, from cheap AR15's to HK 94 clones. You MIGHT get a decent Hesse rifle, but chances are it will be junk (they are on par with ASA (American Spirit Arms who makes AR15's)). If it is a Hesse, pass on it and get a Century. They are not the best in the world, but if anything's wrong with their guns, Century will fix it(pain in the butt, but what do you want for $300?)

Order one of the Century Arms from www.centerfiresystems.com and get a local dealer to take delivery. They are $299 and come with a couple of mags (+ whatever the dealer charge would be; should be @$25). (not sure if they still have this deal, but they did for awhile, and they were even offering free shipping on Cetme's)
